Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the US has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.

The statement noted missile fragments landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
