Trio Shortlisted for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The three finalists have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The champion will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.
The ceremony will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile

A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
